Travel times from Grenoble Airport to Val d’Isere

The most important thing to remember is that travelling on a Saturday can take longer due to traffic congestion. Saturday is the principal changeover day for many ski resorts in the Tarentaise Valley, so the roads are often busiest between the morning and late afternoon. The route from Grenoble Airport travels towards Albertville before following the N90 through Moûtiers, Aime and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From there, the journey continues along the mountain road towards Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, Tignes and Val d’Isere. Under normal conditions, the journey takes around 2 hours 45 minutes. However, congestion around Albertville, Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice can add significant time. Heavy snowfall, road incidents and school-holiday traffic can also cause delays. Travelling on a weekday or Sunday may reduce the journey time. Shared transfers can take longer because of additional passenger stops or a vehicle changeover.
